Xbox all the way...it beats every version of the PS hands-down plus it's easy to customise as you say

I have a gba, it is not what is classed as a console. It called a handheld and should be classed as one.

I really like the idea of the xbox. it is a modded windows 2000 computer.
Thinking about something like this

http://www.consolesandgadgets.co.uk/cat ... -1370.html

I could attach a standand usb hub, connect a keyboard , mouse, my own contrller and a flash drive to save games to.

Also I saw all xboxs on ebay with all 5 games and other stuff...

I'm not really sure why you'd want to attach a mouse and keyboard, and I'm not sure that it would support a USB controller. I've never found myself wanting a USB port on my Xbox...
Game saves will be stored on the internal HD...

I'm surprised, considering PS's use of Linux....and apparently you can install fedora on the PS3.

I must say a "customised" Xbox is really very useful....but it's kinda limited on the games front.

I am being told that the xbox 360 is getting keyboard and mouse. I dont like aiming with a controller, the reaction time is way to slow. Plus I like mucking around with my setups to get a better system, not being about to customize a console would bugs me.

True, the Xbox can, I'm not so sure about the 360 though. I think that's currently fairly resilient to modding.

As supposed to doing it legally http://www.playstation.com/ps3-openplatform/index.html

There is a keyboard for the 360...but it's mostly for the messaging service.

If you really want to do all that, why not just use a computer?

The main reason for getting a console at the mo is the fact that there lots more games coming out on console these days. As the standard set of hardware it is easier to develop games. There is better graphics on new console.

ps3 isnt out for months and it has to much functionallity that I would never use. for the price of a ps3, I could get a xbox 360 and £300 laptop. What is the point? I dont know, I just thought I would ask the question, it is really worth it. No load time, better games and other cool stuff.

This is true, but there wont be many out for the next few months...there's a few Wii games.
High end PCs will always hold the gold for graphics.

Or, more accurately, you could get a 360 and 5 years of online play.
Games still have load times on consoles....

Consoles are good for easy games, you just shove 'em in and play. No installation, no CD keys. It just works...usually.

I do have a sweet computer and it can play all the games I want to do with it but I dont know, there is a different feeeling on a constole. Consoles are better for racing games, 2d games and fighting games. I dont know, I have always been a pc gamer, but i thought might be time for a change.

In my opinion, the PS3 is just not a platform I want to get involved with. It is over priced and over powered. The online gaming isnt the same as the xbox 360. With the 360, you get one log on, like msn, you have a friends list and can talk and play to these contacts. Whereas the ps3, you have a different friends list for each game. The ps3 is a base level computer, but seeing as the console will be sitting next to my computer, I dont see the point.
