I decided that I am going to give opensuse another go. It was very good what I used to do with it. I also am getting used to the command line interface in my network management classes.

Has anyone used it. Has anyone found it is to use/install flash.

I am currently using Mandriva 2007 and I think it sucks. I cant find a 64bit flash plugin for firefox anywhere. Flash is everywhere these days. It is truly amazing. Also, the iso burner sucks, that doesnt work at all. Suse was easy to use last time I installed it.

There isn't a 64 bit flash plugin for anything yet.

You need a 32 bit web browser.

What is the point of a 64bit OS, it is meant to be faster but not having flash slows me down. Mandriva sucks some ass. I think I might just install a 32bit version.. GRRRRRR

just install 32 bit firefox, it won't have any performance hit.

I just remembered why I uninstalled it the last time. You cant play ANY media files in it. I just reboot from it.

There are lots of things to like about opensuse and if you could find a media player that worked with it. I might cut windows out of my system all together, but it doesnt work.

The new version of mandriva forces me to install everything as 64bit and I am not in the mood to hack hours to get 32bit firefox working and then flaash. LIfe is way to short.

What kind of linux is anyone using here, talks to Will on this one..

I'm still on Fedora Core 4. It does the job for me, and the few minutes it takes to sort out ntfs and mp3 playback after installation don't bug me. Download Firefox in an archive from mozilla, sorted. Though I wouldn't mind upgrading to a more recent version. Yet to try version 6, but 5 wouldn't install on this machine.

I think I am going to install Mandriva 2006, no problem finding flash plug. It may be because my graphics card and proccesser dont have drivers in mandriva 07
