I've been toying with the idea of including a Wiki on the Computingstuff site, so I have setup a testwiki, to see if it contributes to the site's popularity/content in any way.
The Wiki can be accessed by this link.
Have a fiddle, see if you like the concept.

Recent Downtime

Recently, our hosts suffered a few problems during migration to new servers, and the site inadvertently got deleted. Luckily...*Drum roll*...I had a backup!
I've really no idea why I had a backup, as that's far too organised, but anyway!
There are a few broken bits, but I'm sure the bugs will be sorted in the near future.
The link to the forums is currently broken, but you can still get to them via this link.
Apologies for the downtime, and I hope to see you on the messageboards soon!

LAN and site news

I'm pleased to announce that the write-up for the ninth ComputingStuff LAN Party, held on 13th April 2007 is now available to read.

I also have some site news for everybody: Simon has been working busily recently fixing the gallery while I've been on the forums, where I've added a new Windows Home Server board, put up lots of new items for sale in the Marketplace and got rid of a lot of spammers and spam messages.

As some of you may have noticed, ComputingStuff has been experiencing a number of issues over the past few weeks due to a recent change of host. These issues were related to broken redirects as well as non-updating feeds and no access to ComputingStuff feeds.

I'm happy to say that the majority of problems have now been fixed, and the remaining ones will be fixed within the next hour or so.

A whole raft of updates

As Si posted a few days ago, the ComputingStuff team has been hard at work improving the site.

We're not fully ready with everything yet, but here are some things we've already done:

Updated all the LAN party stories to point at the new gallery and completed the last LAN party story (finally!)
Moved all the pictures to the new gallery
Added a feed of the current 5 posts from the forums and fixed all the feeds to be valid RSS 2
Moved to Feedburner
Fixed the feeds so that they actually update on time!
Updated all the back-end systems to the current versions
Re-organised the forums, adding new boards and combining some others
Completely re-did the about page with new contact information, server details and link graphics
Updated the terms of use with the new linking policy (simply: link to anything you want)
Fixed a number of small issues reported to us through the forums (thanks guys!)

That's just some of the thing's we've done so far - watch out for even more changes and improvements coming your way in the coming days and weeks - we'll keep you updated every stage of the way :)
